My picks from the OPI Holland collection!

Hi everyone!

OMG. I have been dying to get my paws on this collection ever since I saw the first swatches online! I've been stalking my local polish store for the last month waiting, and I'm pretty sure the girl working there is happy that I can stop calling! :D

I got a total of 7 of the 12 polishes that were released (which is probably a new record for me since I usually get a few that really catch my eye and then go back to buy more!), and I loved all of them except one (but we'll get to that later).

There are a lot of pictures in this post, so I'll put it under a cut! Click the link below to read more!
Left to Right: Dutch 'Ya Just Love OPI?, Wooden Shoe Like to Know, Gouda Gouda Two Shoes, Red Lights Ahead... Where?, Pedal Faster Suzi, I don't give a Rotterdam, I have a Herring Problem

I couldn't resist taking a picture of these polishes with a pair of wooden shoes I received a while ago! perfect photo op! Just in case you're interested, I took another picture of the painted detail on the shoes..

Anyway, on to the polish!

I Don't Give a Rotterdam! : This is a super gorgeous light cornflower blue with lots of shimmer-glitter. The glitter gives this one a really pretty speckled look most of the time. Formula was good, a bit thin but it was opaque in 3 coats.

I Have a Herring Problem : This picture isn't really the best for this polish... it looks very similar to I Don't Give a Rotterdam (pictured above) but in real life the difference is much more obvious. Actually, even in the bottle they look very similar, but when the polish has dried the difference is really apparent. This one is a darker teal-blue. 2 coats.

Pedal Faster Suzi! : This one is a really pretty pale pink with lots of pretty pretty eye-catching shimmer. It's a bit light for my skin, but I think it's a great colour for one of those girly days. Exactly when I was hoping it would be and more. Love it. This one is a bit thin too, I used 3 coats to reach opacity.

Gouda Gouda Two Shoes : I was undecided on this one at first, but I'm really glad I got it! It's super hard to describe this colour... is it a rose-y tan colour or a tan-ish rose? oh well. I think this picture is pretty accurate colour wise, so I'll let you guys decide on the colour for yourself! This one has a more subtle shimmer than Pedal Faster Suzi or the blues, but it's still super gorgeous none-the-less. Formula wise it was awesome, 2 coats pictured here.

Wooden Shoe Like to Know? : Gorgeous milk chocolate brown with the same kind of shimmer as Gouda Gouda Two Shoes. Formula was easy to control and opaque in 2 coats.

Dutch 'Ya Just Love OPI? : OMG. I am in LOVE with this polish. It's absolutely gorgeous. I can't really describe this adequately enough, but if you love purple, you need to see this polish. I'm aware that it's pretty much a dupe to a polish from the Zoya Spring collection (can't really remember which one that was), but I don't really have easy access to Zoya here in Canada. Same kind of shimmer as in the previous two polishes, and also applied like a dream. Two coats.

Red Lights Ahead... Where? : Okay, so this is the one I didn't really like that much. Formula wise, it's pretty awesome (smooth and opaque) but the colour just doesn't really look good on my skin tone. My skin is pretty olive (that is, with yellow undertones) and I think it really brings out the orange in this polish. I'm thinking this would look a lot better on someone with fair-er skin. Just personal preference.

Overall, I really like what I got from this collection! I was initially worried because usually I really love the swatches and then end up hating the polish when I see it in person, but this set really met (and exceeded) my expectations! My favourites from this group are Dutch 'Ya Just Love OPI and Gouda Gouda Two Shoes, but the rest of them (with the exception of Red Lights Ahead... Where?) are not very far behind!

Whew! That's all for now! Thank you all so much for reading! I'm ticking down the days till my first blog anniversary... I can't believe Lively Lacquer is almost 1!
