Pahlish Chemical Swirl

Hi everyone! I hope you're all having a great Sunday!

Today I have another indie polish that I purchased from llarowe! I'm eagerly awaiting another package (with my first HARE polishes!) that I'm expecting in about 2 weeks. Ever since I discovered the DIY peel off base coat (pretty much just nontoxic white school glue), I've definitely fallen hard over glitters. Before that base coat, I would always avoid glitters for fear of removal. I mean, I know the foil method is pretty easy, but I really hated how it made my fingers dry... and I didn't really have the patience for it. Nevermore!

Today I have Pahlish's Chemical Swirl. I have one coat layered over Cult Nails' Charming in the photos below. Since the weather sucks over here (overcast/rainy), the colour isn't quite accurate... it's a bit more red purple than blue (as it appears here). Check it out!

Chemical Swirl is a light purple jelly that is absolutely jam PACKED with all sorts of glitter and some awesome flecks. I won't even try to describe all of the glitters in here since I know I'll never get them all. Squares, hexagons, a few bars... it's amazing.

What do y'all think?

Thank you for reading, and I hope you all have a great week!

China Glaze Glitter All the Way

Hi everyone! TGIF!

Today I have another awesome glitter for you from the China Glaze Winter/Holiday collection! This is the only polish I picked up since I'm on a low-buy, but it is pretty awesome! I definitely don't think my swatches do this any justice!

Glitter All the Way is a mix of jewel toned glitter in green, magenta, violet, and gold. Most of the glitter is the same size, but the green glitters are larger than the rest. Below is 2 coats of Glitter All the Way over Cult Nails' Nevermore (a black creme).

This glitter is pretty dense, so It probably can be built up to opacity in a few coats. I love the stunning jewel tones in this glitter mix - it's so sparkly and eye catching! Colour wise it isn't really a Christmas-y or winter-y theme... to me I'd say this is like a Mardi Gras mix, but then again this could be my kind of New Years confetti!

Of course, with most glitters this does feel pretty rough when dry, so I'd definitely recommend a thick top coat (or two).

That's all for now! Thank y'all for reading! <3

Franken: My Kind of Unicorn

Hi everyone, happy Thursday!

I've been bombarded with family issues for the past week, so I may be posting a bit more sporadically than usual. Due to these circumstances, I'm most likely going on a no/low-buy in the future -- I have to save up in case something bad happens!

But today we're talking about polish! I finally got around to making a franken that I've been thinking about for the past few months. For some reason, I always thought Clarins 230 aka "Unicorn Pee" didn't really remind me of Unicorns. I've always associated Unicorns with rainbows, and I found that Unicorn Pee missed part of the rainbow.

Long story short (most of it thinking on my part), I decided to mix Girly Bits Shift Happens, Street Magic, and Cosmic Ocean together in a bottle in order to create something that was more Unicorn-y in my opinion. I loved how it turned out!

The pictures below are two coats of my franken over China Glaze's Elephant Walk. These were all taken under various lighting - under a daylight lamp, bright indirect light and full sun. Sorry for my oddly shaped pinky finger... I got frustrated at the length of my nails while I was on vacation and I did a rough clip with nail clippers. I ended up cutting my pinky nail too short to even out using a nail file! Also ignore the printing on the side of a bottle - the only empty bottle I could find was one for a base coat.

Hope y'all have a great week and weekend!

Cult Nails: Happy Ending over Princess

Hi everyone.

I'm feeling a bit down/frustrated/stressed out/angry right now. I'm going to start ranting in the next paragraph, so if you don't want to read it, you can just skip it over!

I'm supposed to start a work semester at a company in September (until the end of December) and I had training for the past two days that really pooped me out. I was talking with some of my other fellow new work semester students, and they've all been contacted by a government agency to say that they've been awarded the funding they applied for... and I haven't. Apparently they've also had to sign a formal document about employment (which I haven't had to yet), so I have this sinking feeling that they're waiting to hear if I get the funding before committing to hire me... and if I don't get it, they'll decide to drop me. Not sure if it can work this way, but I'm still really stressed out.

Okay, rant off. If any of you read that, thank you so much for bearing with me! <3

Anyhow, since I fee a little bit better now (but still stressed) I'm going to post a mani featuring polishes from one of my favourite brands ever - Cult Nails.

I think I'm going to spare you from any more epic rambling of mine, so here are the photos! Enjoy!

Thank you for reading even though I can be a bit crazy sometimes, you guys really mean the world to me!

PS: I'm leaving for the east coast (I'm staying in the Bethesda area) on vacation for the next two weeks, so hopefully I'm planning tomorrow to get my mojo together to shedule up some posts for the time I'm away. That being said, this will probably be my last live post before I take off on Monday night. See y'all in a little bit! I'll be on twitter until I leave and for intermittent periods during my trip!

Ozotic Pro #534

Hi everyone!

I'd like to apologize for my lack of recent posts, my first full week of class has been unexpectedly... eventful. I already miss sleeping in every day while on holiday. :P

I also mentioned having a huge number of photos that need to be posted... I was looking around for those and for some reason I thought I had way more than I actually do? Actually I've probably just misplaced them in a folder somewhere on my computer (that's just like me).

Anyhow, today's polish is one that was on my Top 20 list, so you might have seen it in a photo already! I have a few more pictures though anyway, and this polish definitely deserves its own post!

The above photos are of Ozotic Pro #534 (over black), the super awesome holographic multichrome! *drools* There were all taken under artificial light except the last, which is in natural, overcast light! The holographicness of this polish is so eyecatching in strong light that it tends to distract from the multichromeness, but in low lights and strong angles the multichrome definitely comes out to play!

That's all for now! Thank you for reading :)

Cult Nails - Unicorn Puke

Hey everyone!

Sorry for not posting sooner! I had my last midterm today, and from now on I just have papers and finals! Yay!

I'd like to thank everyone for being absolutely fantastic, and I'd just like to remind those of you who haven't entered my giveaway yet to enter! It will be open until the 11th (this Friday!) until 11:59 PM!

Anyway, onto the polish of the day!

I am SUPER excited to show you all Cult Nails' Unicorn Puke! This polish is also being released with the Cult Nails Super Powers collection as Clairvoyant (same polish, different name and the bottle will be different). I managed to snag Unicorn Puke during its presale and it finally made its way to my house last week!

What can I say? This polish is GORGEOUS. I mean, multicoloured flakies in a purple tinted base? Yes please! I've been lemming is one since Maria first posted a picture of it wayyy back and it definitely doesn't disappoint. Anyway, enough rambling talk and time for the pictures!

The above photos are all one coat of Unicorn Puke over 2 coats of Finger Paints - Art of Theft. Isn't it fab? This is definitely going on my top 10 list (which I haven't made yet but have been thinking about)!!

Anyhow! Now it's your turn! What do you think? Are you going to pick up Unicorn Puke/Clairvoyant when it comes out? As of this time of posting, the Super Powers collection is still available for presale at the Cult Nails website!

Thank you for reading!
