Candeo Colors Zef

Hi everyone, I hope y'all had a good weekend!

Today I have an awesome polish for you from my latest indie polish buy from Llarowe! I'm not really on the indie polish wagon, but I can't help getting some of them! My next buy will probably be some of the HARE polish fall collection... from the preview bottle shots I want 4 of them for sure, but that might change once I see actual swatches. In this last order I got Candeo Jellybean, Zef, Pretty and Polished Rat-a-tat, and Pahlish Chemical Swirl.

This polish is definitely my hands down favourite from the 4 polishes that I purchased. I was a bit unsure about buying Zef since I wasn't all too sure that the mix of matte pink, light blue and black glitters would really be my style. I layered this over Sparitual Lucid (a pretty light lilac-lavender purple) and I absolutely LOVED this combination.

What do y'all think? I've found that most of the indie polishes that I've purchased so far are either hit or miss, but this one is definitely a hit for me!

Thanks for reading! I hope you all have a great week!

Innisfree #85

Hi everyone, TGIF!

Today I have an awesome polish from a Korean brand to show you! I didn't even know this polish existed until this one night where I stayed up reading nail blogs... when I saw swatches of this polish I instantly went and bought a set on EBay. I had pictures of the polishes in my haul post a while back, but today I have one of them to show y'all!

For this look, I decided to layer #85 over OPI's Steady as She Rose. I used a DIY peel off base coat (it's just liquid white, non toxic glue like those they use in schools). I love these polishes as they remind me of Deborah Lippmann's Glitter in the Air, but with different colours of glitters and bases. I usually don't like wearing glitters since I despise removing them, but with this base coat, I don't have to suffer through that anymore!

Anyhow, here's the polish!

Sorry about the odd shape of my pinky finger! I took this picture a while back when my nail was a really strange shape!

Thanks for reading!

Franken: My Kind of Unicorn

Hi everyone, happy Thursday!

I've been bombarded with family issues for the past week, so I may be posting a bit more sporadically than usual. Due to these circumstances, I'm most likely going on a no/low-buy in the future -- I have to save up in case something bad happens!

But today we're talking about polish! I finally got around to making a franken that I've been thinking about for the past few months. For some reason, I always thought Clarins 230 aka "Unicorn Pee" didn't really remind me of Unicorns. I've always associated Unicorns with rainbows, and I found that Unicorn Pee missed part of the rainbow.

Long story short (most of it thinking on my part), I decided to mix Girly Bits Shift Happens, Street Magic, and Cosmic Ocean together in a bottle in order to create something that was more Unicorn-y in my opinion. I loved how it turned out!

The pictures below are two coats of my franken over China Glaze's Elephant Walk. These were all taken under various lighting - under a daylight lamp, bright indirect light and full sun. Sorry for my oddly shaped pinky finger... I got frustrated at the length of my nails while I was on vacation and I did a rough clip with nail clippers. I ended up cutting my pinky nail too short to even out using a nail file! Also ignore the printing on the side of a bottle - the only empty bottle I could find was one for a base coat.

Hope y'all have a great week and weekend!

Vacation Parcels!

Hi everyone!

First of all.. TGIF! Today marks the end of my first full week (last week was a 4 days week since labour day was a holiday) at my new job. I'm writing this in advance since I won't be able to type up posts the day of on weekdays since I get home pretty late. It kind of sucks how there isn't enough light (and I feel too pooped) to swatch for the blog after work, so all of my swatching has to be done on weekends. I'm sure a lot of polish bloggers have to do the same, but it's just a bit unusual for me since I'm used to being in school and getting back relatively early.

ANYWAY, onto the meat of today's post! I'm not going to do much talking for the rest of this post since I'll most likely be revisiting all of these products in their own posts sooner or later. These items all arrived while I was away on the East Coast, so I had the pleasure of opening all of these up when I got back home!

I got two sample sets (each set includes 6 soaps of your choice, so I have 12 in total) of soaps from KBShimmer. I normally don't like handmade soap, but I thought these were too cute to pass up on, and so I'm "testing" them for gift quality *cough cough* and also taking the opportunity to figure out what smell I'd like for a tub of KBShimmer body scrub. I'm a sucker for body scrubs.

Top to bottom, left to right: Pink Sugar, Raspberry Vanilla, Rosemary Mint, Oatmeal Milk and Honey, Bamboo Sugarcane, Paradise, Kaleidosoap, Gardeners, Lilac, Chai Tea, Blue Hawaii and Southern Belle.

My Cult Nails Birthday Sale Order (only the new polishes!) I also got 2 bottles of Wicked Fast and a back up of Feelin' Froggy. I really wish I got a bottle of Deal with it, but I guess I'm just going to have to wait till the next sale!

Innisfree nail polish. This is a Korean brand that I saw late one night while I was browsing nail polish blogs. Obviously I shouldn't read polish blogs late at night because I ordered these babies a few minutes after I saw them. No regrets though, since these are gorgeous.

I also received my Llarowe order of 2 Girly Bits polishes... I didn't manage to take pictures of them though, before I used them up for frankening. You'll be hearing about this in a later post!

Before I go, I wanted to mention that I really appreciate all of the FANTABULOUS comments left on my scheduled posts while I was away! Thank you so, so much! <3

That's all for today! Thank you for reading!

Cult Nails Charming

Hi everyone!

I'm back! Actually, I got back last week, but I started at my new job (which is full time) and I've been pretty exhausted. I'm still adjusting to the hours, so my posting will be somewhat erratic for a while until I can figure out my schedule. I'm still feeling too pooped to actually edit some newer photos (I have a bunch of cool things to show y'all in the future!), so today's post is from the vault!

These photos of Cult Nails Charming have been stuck in my archives mostly because I feel like the colour isn't really accurate. The colour is a tad more red based than it appears in my photos (on my computer). Nonetheless, it is a really nice shade to have in my collection. It's a bit sheer, but I'm looking forward to trying to use it in a glitter sandwich... maybe with some of those indies I just bought off Llarowe. ;P

Hmm, I think that's all for today! I'm planning on enjoying a pretty laid back Sunday... I think that'll be easy considering it looks like it's going to rain outside!

OPI Every Month is Oktoberfest with Pam's Girly Bits Shift Happens

Hi everyone! I'm back!

Well, I should be back by now haha. I'm still scheduling this in advance, since I know that I'm probably going to be too pooped to type out a long post. Not sure if I'm going to buy any polish while I'm in the States, so we may or may not have a haul post coming along.

Besides, today's polish is gorgeous and deserves a post, instead of a long time in my archives folder lol.

First up, I have pictures of EMIO on its own...

And to make an awesome mani, I layered a coat of Girly Bits' Shift Happens on top, which really made this mani incredible.

I like EMIO, but with Shift happens overtop... it just makes it so much better!

Thanks for reading! Our (ir)regular live posting will return shortly!

Zoya Apple

Hi everyone!

I'm currently on vacation in Washington DC area, so today's post is a scheduled one. This means I won't be able to reply to any comments until I return on the 2nd of September! In the meantime, enjoy the ramble-free posting! :D

Today I have another polish from Zoya's Sunshine collection from 2011. I was pretty excited for this polish since I LOVE green, and I'm not at all disappointed. I actually think I love this shade more than Ivanka!
