Glitter Gal Suede

Hi everyone!

Today we have another polish that I really really liked and somehow misplaced the pictures! This tends to happen a lot, probably because when I edit a bunch of photos I end up wanted to post the best ones last.. and then I swatch more and they get lost!

Suede is another gorgeous holographic from Glitter Gal! The holographic effect in this polish is definitely more subtle compared to any of the other GG holos I've tried, but this one still has a special place in my heart.

The above is Glitter Gal Suede in direct sunlight. I really love how this colour looks on my skin. Super gorgeous, and I had no problems applying it! :D

Suede and other Glitter Gal polishes can be purchased from http://shop.llarowe.com/ for $14 / 9mL bottle or $20 for a full sized bottle. You can also find other AWESOME polishes at Llarowe, including some spectacular holographics, multichromes, AND the new A-England collection! I currently have my eyes on the Speciallita Hits no Olimpo collection, but I can't bring myself to splurge on those... yet. ;)

Thank you all for reading! Have a great Monday!

Model's Own - Purple Blue

Hi everyone! Happy Saturday!

Today I'm featuring a gorgeous polish I bought way back in November from the Models Own Beetlejuice collection! You can see the posts I've done of three other polishes from the collection so far here: Aqua Violet, Gold Green, and Emerald Black.

Purple Blue is definitely one of my favourite duochrome polishes of all time. I've worn this on several occasions.

The pictures above are of Purple Blue over black. My only complaint with this polish is that it has toluene in it, which I really dislike (for all of the health issues, etc). I wish the formula didn't include toluene, but it's still gorgeous regardless.

That's all for today! Thank you so much for reading!

Cult Nails - Mind Control

Hi everyone!

I can't believe I haven't posted up the rest of the Cult Nails Super Powers collection yet! I was looking on my computer for a swatch of a polish from a while back that I know I missed posting, but instead of finding those pictures, I found a BUNCH of edited photos that haven't been posted either! I didn't find the ones I was looking for, but I have this idea that they are on a USB key that I have conveniently not seen for a few months now.

I'm going to go hunt for that as soon as I'm done typing up this post, so without further ado... Mind Control!

Mind Control is a squishy looking not-quite-black with pink-gold shimmer. I actually like this one a lot, so it was a big surprise that I haven't posted about this yet!

Thank you for reading!

  3. Award 10 other blogs and let them know in a comment or email
  4. Share 7 random thoughts about yourself

Form

1. Name your favourite song:
Hmm, this is hard. I tend to listen to different kinds of music depending on my mood. At the moment, I'm in a Taylor Swift phase, but I also listen to Matthew Good and a bunch of other musicians that don't really make sense together. :P

2. Name your favourite dessert:
At the moment I'm craving an apple tart with super flaky pastry... :P

3. What ticks me off:
Bad customer service.

4. When I'm upset I:
Listen to super depressing music (usually Matthew Good), drink Dr Pepper and eat comfort food.

5. What's your favourite pet:
I have a cat and a dog!

6. Black or white:
White.

7. Biggest Fear:
Losing someone I love. Other than that, I really hate spiders.

8. Everyday attitude:
Depends on what side of the bed I wake up on. ;) I'm generally a very cheerful person unless something happens that makes me angry or annoyed.

Applying the most perfect nail polish, or acing an exam. :P

7 Random Things About Me

1. I'm a biology student, which pretty much also means that I'm a science geek. :P

2. I have a cat, a dog, a fish, and a hamster. I've also raised rabbits (a long time ago though). I like animals.

3. I garden (or attempt to) in my spare time. I also like plants.

4. I used to sing in the highschool's chamber choir, but now all of my singing is mainly done in the shower.

5. The nail polish that started this obsession was China Glaze - He's Going in Circles from the kaleidoscope collection. I never realized how cool nail polish was before that point.

6. I'm a perpetually messy person. If my room could talk... well, I wouldn't want to hear it.

7. Someday, I'd like to learn how to swim and go to Australia. That would probably be the est vacation ever. The second destination on my list is Brazil, mostly so I can buy a crapload of nail polish and bring it home with me. :D

Alright, well.. that's all! I'm a kind of shy/awkward person that sometimes feels weird reaching out to people (especially when it comes to nominating awards like this and such), so I'd like to invite any of you that are reading this to feel free to nominate yourselves! If you do, please leave a link in the comments! I like to read these things! :D

Ozotic Pro #534

Hi everyone!

I'd like to apologize for my lack of recent posts, my first full week of class has been unexpectedly... eventful. I already miss sleeping in every day while on holiday. :P

I also mentioned having a huge number of photos that need to be posted... I was looking around for those and for some reason I thought I had way more than I actually do? Actually I've probably just misplaced them in a folder somewhere on my computer (that's just like me).

Anyhow, today's polish is one that was on my Top 20 list, so you might have seen it in a photo already! I have a few more pictures though anyway, and this polish definitely deserves its own post!

The above photos are of Ozotic Pro #534 (over black), the super awesome holographic multichrome! *drools* There were all taken under artificial light except the last, which is in natural, overcast light! The holographicness of this polish is so eyecatching in strong light that it tends to distract from the multichromeness, but in low lights and strong angles the multichrome definitely comes out to play!

That's all for now! Thank you for reading :)

Essie: As Gold as it Gets

Hi everyone!

Just a super fast post today, I managed to somehow catch a cold or something so I've been feeling super sick lately. I also have a huge number of pictures that need to be posted sometime, so the next few posts will be of swatches that have been getting dusty in the archives!

Today I have a polish that I have been lemming like crazy ever since I saw swatches of it! I know a lot of people are crazy about Shine of the Times, but I actually think that As Gold as it Gets is my favourite polish from the Luxeffects collection!

Without further ado, here are the pictures!

The above photos are one coat of As Gold as it Gets over Color Club's Red-ical Gypsy from the Back to Boho collection.

The above photos are one coat of As Gold as it Gets over Color Club's Artsy Craftsy.

That's all for today! I can't wait to try some more layering combinations with this polish! Next up is probably over a nice navy... mmm. :D

A England - Tristam

Hi everyone! Hold on tight! We're almost at the end of the week!

Today I just have a really brief post with a fantastically gorgeous polish from A England! To be honest, I actually wasn't really interested in A England polishes initially but that all changed when I got Tristam in the mail and put it on for the first time. I kind of freaked out. It's gorgeous. Gah. I would have posted this one a LOT sooner, but for some reason it took me 3 attempts at swatching to get decent pictures!

Of course now Lady of the Lake also calls my polish hoard home. :P

Anyway, enough rambling and onto the pictures!

Tristam is a dark blue-purple scattered holographic polish. The formula is amazing and pretty much glides onto the nail, and it also dries with is really nice smooth feeling and is super glossy. I love this polish, and that's why it's on my top 20 list for 2011! :D

Is anyone else excited about the next A England collection? I saw some pictures of it and was like "OMG I NEED THOSE NOW". Well actually I still need them. ;)

Tristam and other A England polishes can be purchased from http://shop.llarowe.com/ , which is run by Leah Ann LaRowe. Leah Ann is the official US stockist for Glitter Gal and A England. She also sells some other super awesome glitter, multichrome and holographic nail polishes! Her website is a complete drool-fest for holo/multichrome/glitter lovers!

That's all for now! Thank you all for reading! <3

Rescue Beauty Lounge Haul ft. Pizzicato!

Hi everyone!

So I finally ordered my first Rescue Beauty Lounge polishes in a joint order with my sister during the vintage BIB presale! I finally managed to get my paws on Scrangie, which has been my biggest lemming since... pretty much ever! When I opened the box it came in, I kind of got freaked out because we made a huge order and it scared me to be looking at $200 worth of nail polish. Then of course I took the bottles out of the boxes and the first thing I thought was "omg, I need to get more!" LOL

I'm going to keep this a short post with a few awesome pictures! I'll have posts featuring these polishes in the future, but if you really want to see a particular polish, please leave a comment and I'll try to get to it asap!

Left to Right: Scrangie, Piu Mosso, Poco a Poco, Pizzicato

Left to Right: Catherine, Catherine H, Anne, Jane

In case you're wondering why this doesn't add up to $200, my sister and I decided that we probably wouldn't be able to live with 'joint custody' of these babies, so we ended up getting 2 bottles each of Piu Mosso, Anne, Catherine, and Catherine H.

At the moment, I'm wearing Pizzicato on my left hand! *drools* It's super pretty so I'm not going to try to describe it with my limited descriptive vocabulary. :P I'm really glad I gave in and finally got myself some RBLs. :D

 Rescue Beauty Lounge Pizzicato
Isn't it gorgeous? Ugh. I can't get enough of these Rescue Beauty Lounge polishes. Pretty much every time I visit the RBL website, I always end up adding a polish or two to my wishlist.

That's all for now! Thanks for reading!

My pick from the China Glaze Electropop collection

Hi everyone! Happy Saturday!

The weather here has been incredibly miserable.. it has been pretty much non-stop raining for the past few days and so the lighting hasn't been good enough for taking pictures of my nails! I'm actually toying with the idea of going out and buying some daylight bulbs to play with, but if I go out then I'd have to go pick up the bajillion other things I need too. Can you tell that I'm enjoying my lazy Saturday? :P

Alrighty, so today I have my picks from the Spring Electropop collection! I only picked up the blues and green (for a total of 4 polishes) from this collection, but I may go back and pick up some of the other colours at a later date. I'm ridiculously excited about OPI's Holland collection, so I'm trying to limit myself now so my wallet doesn't cry as much later! :D

Aquadelic: This is a very pretty bright aqua blue. Looks similar to For Audrey in the bottle, but I think this is a bit brighter and vibrant. Comparison to come later!

Electric Beat: A very pretty cornflower blue. My favourite in this set I think.

Gaga for Green: This picture gives the polish a bit of a blue tinge on my monitor, but I would describe it as a somewhat subdued yellow based green (almost lime green).
Kinetic Candy: Very light pastel blue. Very pretty, although probably not the most unique of a colour.

Sorry for the crappy pictures/lighting, these were all taken in overcast/rainy Vancouver weather. The formula on these were all good, Kinetic Candy and Aquadelic were a bit thick but still easy to control, and Electric Beat and Gaga for Green were a bit thinner but still equally easy to apply.

That's all for today, I hope y'all enjoy your weekend! :D

Hi everyone! So here is the first half of my Top 20 picks!
I know some of these were released before 2011, but I'm going to choose from polishes that I've acquired over the past year. I think next year I'll stick to the top 10 polishes released in 2012. :D

So these aren't in any particular order at all. Some of these polishes haven't been posted on the blog before, but they may be featured in their own post sometime in the new year!

Deborah Lippmann Across the Universe

A England Tristam - Smooth, beautiful scattered holo goodness.

Zoya Neeka - I love the finish. It's like a bird egg!
