Select picks from the OPI Muppets Holiday 2011 Collection!

Hi everyone!

I seem to be getting lucky with my local nail polish store.. it seems like they're putting out a lot of things pretty early! I just happened to stop by the store to buy some tweezers, and I noticed that they had the whole collection out. :D

I was originally only planning on buying Gone Gonzo and Fresh Frog of Bel-Air, but I ended up getting a couple of other ones too.. in the end I got Gone Gonzo, Fresh Frog of Bel-Air, Meep-Meep-Meep, Warm and Fozzie, Pepe's Purple Passion, and Rainbow Connection.

It was also a nice-ish day for swatching, so I swatched them pretty much right after I got home. I'm adding Rainbow Connection to the giveaway prize (which should be announced in the next week or so.. I'm waiting for one more polish to come to me in the mail!) so I don't have swatches of that!

Like the last post.. this one is going to be a bit long.. so I'm going to put it under a cut again :D

Gone Gonzo!: Blue glitter with larger silver hexagonal glitter. I actually like this one a lot more than I thought I would. It's fairly simple with just two kinds of glitter in a clear base, but I actually kind of like how this looks by itself on my nail, and I can't wait to try it over a coloured base too! I came home worried that Jen was going to spaz at me for buying more polish since I spent a lot on nail polish last weekend, but I pulled this one out and she forgot everything. :D
OPI - Gone Gonzo! 1 coat.

Fresh Frog of Bel-Air: This one is pretty awesome too, it's just like I thought it would be. Green glitter and larger silver hexagonal glitter. I'm already thinking about what to layer this over.. :D
OPI - Fresh Frog of Bel-Air. 1 coat.

Meep-Meep-Meep: Raspberry pink base with irregular flake-ish glitter. I wasn't really interested in this polish when I was looking at swatches.. but it was pretty awesome looking in the bottle, so of course I had to buy it. ;) The glitter/flakes in this one makes it dry a little rough/odd textured, so it would help to put some top coat on top!

By the way, on my monitor these pictures are a bit off.. it's a little deeper in colour and less bright pink in person.. and these pictures are without top coat.
OPI - Meep-Meep-Meep. 2 coats.

Pepe's Purple Passion: I would describe this one as a brown-ish reddy-purple (maroon?) with the same kind of glitter/flakes as Meep-Meep-Meep. Out of all of the ones I bought, I guess I was probably the most disappointed by this one. In the bottle, the flakes look absolutely stunning, and when first applied, it's fricking gorgeous. When it dries, most of the flake-y glitz gets kind of covered by the base colour, so the effect is pretty subtle. Also dries with the same strange texture as Meep-Meep-Meep, so a layer of top coat would help here. Pictured here without top coat, and the first picture hopefully will give you an idea of how awesome it looks in the bottle.

Finally last but definitely my favourite of the bunch..

Warm and Fozzie: Bronze-y multicolour duochrome-y glitter in a slightly tinted base. This polish is so AWESOME. I love it. It reminds me of the leaves in Fall. Urgh. Can't describe it. It goes on kinda sheer, and need 3 coats for opacity. No more description here.. just look at the pictures already. ;)

Overall, I'm really happy with the polishes I have from this collection. I am in LOVE with Warm&Fozzie and the rest.. and I'm only really disappointed by Pepe's Purple Passion.

I've also taken some nail wheel comparisons of some potential dupes that I own.. but I'll save those for Wednesday's post!

Hope you all have a fantastic week! I'm crossing my fingers for that package to arrive soon!

    @ Fashion Footing - I love glitter too! I think I'm going through a phase :P

@ Jennifer - haha YEAH, we should totally go NP shopping sometime! We'll take Eva with us to get her back into it! ;D

    @Imfeelingnail-venturous - Thanks!!

@ Sharon - I haven't tried on Rainbow Connection yet since I'm planning to give the bottle I bought away (and it doesn't feel quite right to try it out and give it to someone..) but I do think it would be similar to Milani Gems or Deborah Lippmann's Happy Birthday (and the other polishes that are quite similar)

    Thanks again for the comments!!<3
