China Glaze Hologlam Collection Part 2

Hi everyone!

I know, I know... I said I was going to post this soon after the first part of this collection, but mother nature has been annoying (as I mentioned in a previous post) and of course it was a beautiful day right after I posted said post. I managed to get all of the polishes swatched, but then of course my computer decides to be all stupid and not connect to the wireless. Long story short, I've gotten it fixed and I'm back! (EDIT: I started writing this a few days ago actually, and I thought my laptop was fixed at the time. It broke again when I was about halfway into this post).

So, here are the last 6 polishes! 5 of these 6 swatches were done in the aforementioned beautiful day and one was done when I swatched the last batch of holos. You can tell which one this was since all of the recent swatches don't include my index finger (I had an accident with that one and a bit of the corner came off). For some of these polishes I have more than 2 photos, so this is going to be another long one beyond the cut!

Don't be a Luna-tic - Artificial lighting
Don't be a Luna-tic - Direct sunlight

Don't be a Luna-tic: I honestly don't really know how to describe this one. It's like a really light, cool silver-y teal. My stunning inability to describe this colour aside, I think it's pretty. It reminds me of breath mints, actually. Those really cool ones that make your tongue tingle/sting if you leave them in one place for too long.

Get Outta my Space - Artificial lighting

Get Outta my Space - Direct sunlight
Get Outta my Space: This is a delicate, pale pastel purple. Depending on the lighting I guess you could say it leans towards the pink side. I'd say this one probably isn't 100% unique in the holo world, but considering I don't actually own many holos, it's a first for me. I am planning on getting Eternal Beauty (the Color Club 2013 holo), so I can do a comparison at some later date. (Edit: Eternal Beauty leans much more towards the blue side of purple).

Not in the Galaxy - Artificial lighting

Not in this Galaxy - Direct sunlight

Not in this Galaxy - Direct sunlight
Not in this Galaxy: This is a slightly salmon-y rose-y pink. It kind of reminds me of those 'typical' holo colors (see the Nfu-Oh holos), but I -think- this is a bit more saturated in colour. I actually like the more subtle holo effect (compared to other more in your face holos)... I was a bit disappointed at first, but I like them more now. For one thing, I wore this to a job interview (it dried really fast, yay!) and it wasn't so out of your mind blingy that it was distracting (what I consider not work appropriate), but if you actually did look at it, you could see the rainbows. Not really sure if that makes sense, but remember that I like subtle things sometimes and this should make sense.

Astro-hot - Artificial lighting

Astro-hot - Direct sunlight

Astro-Hot: In the picture with the artificial lighting, this polish looks very similar to Get Outta my Space, but in reality it's much more pink based. My photos are actually pretty colour inaccurate... it definitely looks a bit more blue toned. Then again, I'm comparing my photo to my nail wheel swatch in lighting that makes everything look really yellow. I'd describe this one as a medium pink leaning magenta. Pretty. Currently wondering how this polish would compare to some of the other holos out there. Again, due to my holo deprived stash, I like this one. I think the only holos I can stop myself from buying are the silver ones.

Sci-fly By - Direct Sunlight
Sci-fly By: I think this shade is one of the usual holo colours out there (light sky blue). This is one does seem to be a bit more on the vibrant side though. The next sunny day I get (where I don't have any work to do), I'll be comparing this polish to some of the other light blue holos I have in my stash (that I can find). If I recall correctly, this polish reminds me of one of the Color Club Halo Hues. (Edit: I just got my Halo Hues, and the holo is SO MUCH STRONGER.)

OMG A UFO - Artificial lighting
OMG A UFO - Direct sunlight
OMG A UFO - Direct sunlight
OMG A UFO - Direct sunlight
OMG A UFO - Direct sunlight
OMG a UFO: I think this shade is by far one of the most unique colours in this collection. It's like a murky swampy green. I don't really have much to say about this polish aside from the fact that I love it!

Overall, the formula of these polishes was good (great even). I didn't really have any problems with balding with these polishes (I think it happened once, but it wasn't really horrible like applying the Nfu-oh holos with no aqua base. I do like the subdued holo look (I'm a fan of both blingy holo and this kind of subdued holo - not like Color Club's Wild at Heart... that one just makes me sad).

I pretty much JUST got the Color Club Halo Hues in the mail, and the holo is AMAZING. It's fantastic. If you love holographic polishes, the Halo Hues are just for you. I'm even considering getting the rest of the Halo Hues polishes that I haven't ordered and a back up of Eternal Beauty.

But back to the Hologlams... my favourite out of all 12 are When Stars Collide, Strap on your Moon Boots and OMG A UFO (swatches of the first two here). Who am I kidding? It's purple, blue and green. So typical of me! :P

Anyhow, I won't bore you with rambling any longer! Hope you all have a great Wednesday, and thank you so much for reading!

Marisa
