Hi everyone, I'm back!
Sorry for not posting in a while, I've been really busy and stressed out about all of the final projects and exams I've had over the past few weeks! My last exam was Sunday, so now I'm freeeeee.
I can't wait to show you all of the new polish I've purchased, starting with today!
Talk about starting off with a bang! Today I'm featuring a spectacular holographic polish by Color Club. This is Eternal Beauty, and it most definitely is a beauty!
Isn't it fabulous? Eternal Beauty is a blue-violet linear holographic polish. The holo in this polish is amazing! I really hope Color Club makes more holographic polishes like the Halo Hues. I'm particularly lemming more vibrant holographic shades like this one.
I can't really explain how much I love this polish. I didn't have any problems with application at all, and the holographic effect and colour is to die for.
I'll stop going on like a whiny record about this polish now. I can't wait to show you all of the other polishes that I've accumulated during my hiatus!
As always, thank you so much for reading!

Sunday Swatch Spam: Back to Boho Edition
Hi everyone!
I'm sure most of you have seen this collection about a billion times now, so I won't say too much about it now!
Artsy Craftsy: One of my favourites from this collection. Evergreen green creme.
Blue-Topia: Smooth, pigmented navy creme. Easy to apply but I can see this leaving nails looking smurfy, so 2 coats of base coat just in case!
Boho Mojo: Eugh. Frostier than Frosty the Snowman.
Earthy Angel: Nude creme. Another one of those colours that make my hands mannequin-like. Pretty, but still kind of freaks me out a bit. I would need to wear this one with something on top.
New Bohemian: Another variation on a Tiffany Blue. One of these days I'm going to need to dig all of these colours out and do a comparison. I'm a sucker for these colours.
Nomadic in Nude: Another nude colour, but I prefer this over Earthy Angel.
Nouveau Vintage: Another one of my favourites for this collection. Verry pretty look that reminds me of aged bronze.
Rad Nomad: A blue-grey creme.
Rebel Spirit: I think that this is a very dark brown that looks almost black, depending on the lighting.
Red-ical Gypsy: I actually liked this one a lot. Smooth formula, pretty berry-red colour.
Shabby Drab: Dusty-ish cornflower blue. A colour I will probably be reaching for a lot in the summer!
Voodoo You Do: Another frosty colour, although definitely not as frosty as Boho Mojo. With careful application you can avoid having super obvious streaks. Not a polish I'd put on if I were ever in a rush though. :P
Hope you all enjoyed the swatch spam! Happy Sunday!

Essie: As Gold as it Gets
Hi everyone!
Just a super fast post today, I managed to somehow catch a cold or something so I've been feeling super sick lately. I also have a huge number of pictures that need to be posted sometime, so the next few posts will be of swatches that have been getting dusty in the archives!
Today I have a polish that I have been lemming like crazy ever since I saw swatches of it! I know a lot of people are crazy about Shine of the Times, but I actually think that As Gold as it Gets is my favourite polish from the Luxeffects collection!
Without further ado, here are the pictures!
The above photos are one coat of As Gold as it Gets over Color Club's Red-ical Gypsy from the Back to Boho collection.
The above photos are one coat of As Gold as it Gets over Color Club's Artsy Craftsy.
That's all for today! I can't wait to try some more layering combinations with this polish! Next up is probably over a nice navy... mmm. :D

Some quick OPI Muppets Comparisons..
Hi everyone,
Just a quick post of some comparisons I did on a nail wheel for today.. basically Monday - Friday is like a marathon for me. I start out slow on Mondays (my early day).. but every day for the rest of the week is like a race.. and then on the weekend, hopefully I have free time for myself and also to get ready for the next week.
Anyway, some pictures and a few words!
Left to Right: China Glaze - Ahoy!, OPI - Meep-Meep-Meep, China Glaze Strawberry Fields
If you make the picture bigger, the difference between Ahoy! and Meep-Meep-Meep is more apparent.
Left to Right: Cult Nails - Iconic, OPI - Pepe's Purple Passion
The colour of Pepe's Purple Passion is more purple than Iconic, and the flakes in Iconic are much more noticable. Iconic also has some gold shimmer in it.
Left to Right: OPI - Warm and Fozzie, Color Club - Wild and Willing
Sorry for the crappy picture.. this was the best one out of the bunch I took :P
I think these two actually look pretty awesome together.. they remind me of Fall!
Oh yeah, and just a little extra.. Amanda from The Nail Polish Enthusiast asked me a little while ago about how close China Glaze's Blue Year's Eve was to OPI's Swimsuit.. Nailed it! I don't actually own Swimsuit, and I figured it'd take me a while before I could borrow it from one of my friends that actually owns it.. so I did one of those crappy tape comparisons. Sorry for the crappy comparison, but I hope this will help some people out..
Left to Right: OPI - Swimsuit.. Nailed it!, China Glaze - Blue Year's Eve
That's all for now.. Have a great day everyone!

Color Club - Poptastic
Hello everyone~
Sorry for the really infrequent posts, but I've been feeling really uninspired lately, and none of the things I do to my nails as of late have felt up to posting quality.
Anyhow, aside from all of that, since the weather has been pretty bright and sunny out (not like summer-summer weather, more like pre-fall weather) I have a set of summer colours from last year! Yay!
I actually really liked this collection, it dried fast (I was expecting slower, like some of the other Color Club polishes I've tried) and the coverage wasn't bad. The more neon colours dry with a semi-matte finish (the photo of Warhol really shows the matte finish), so I'd recommend top coat for any of these. Out of the set, my favourite is probably Pucci-licious, but I'd wear these all again. Great summer colours.
Hmm, I think that's all for now. I hope you guys all have a great Friday!
By the way, if you haven't yet.. I think the Cult Nails Hypnotic collection presale is still on (it's $30 for the whole collection -> 4 polishes) and the Rescue Beauty Lounge Firebird VIP presale is on now!

Color Club - Wicked Sweet
Hello everybody!
Today I have Color Club's Wicked Sweet set to show you!
This was purchased at Winners for $12.99 by my sister (I mentioned this in the Keep it Under Cover post).
This set features bright summer colours that are also fruit-scented. I'm fairly sensitive to smells (especially those sweet smelling candy fruit smells) so you probably already have an idea of what I thought of the scent. Out of all of them, the only one I liked (smell wise) was the grape. The rest of them weren't as bad as I was originally expecting!
The colours in the pictures are a bit off, these are all very bright (GYLO and TLSH are highlighter colours for reference).
In terms of coverage, Get Your Lem-On and I always get my Man-Darin were both very sheer. Actually, most of these were kind of thin, with the exception of Yum Gum.
In conclusion, I really like these colours (yup, bright stuff), but I'm not too crazy about the scent. I don't mind perfume (in small quantities) but I think my nose is still scarred from memories of high school and Axe sprayed in copious quantities in the narrow hallways. I mean, yeah maybe a little bit of scent will make you seem attractive to women. Okay. Try not to kill any interested parties before they actually get within 5 feet of you first.
Have a great day all!
-Marisa
PS: I have midterm exams on Friday and Monday, so I'll be focusing on studying and not posting.. but I have a post scheduled so there won't be too many days of post-lessness. :)

Get Your Lem-On - Lemon scented
The Lime Starts Here - Lime Scented
Gimme a Grape Big Kiss - Grape Scented
I always get my Man-Darin - I guess you could say that this is orange scented
Wicked Sweet - Another hard to describe scent. It smells.. sweet?
Yum Gum -gum scented, reminds me of old fashioned pink bubblegum
Raspberry Rush - Raspberry scented

Color Club - Keep it Under Cover
Hi all,
Today I have a set from wayy back in the Spring.. Color Club's Keep it Under Cover, which is half of their Alter Ego collection.
This set was purchased at Winners by my sister for $12.99. She also bought the Wicked Sweet set that was also in stock (more on this in a later post).
This set came with 6 colours and a top coat.
Alias is a very pretty purple duochrome that appears gold and green at different angles. I really like this colour - it's very mysterious.
On a side note, the word "alias" reminds me of Margaret Atwood's Alias Grace, which was a good read but slightly disturbing (I'd still recommend it to people though).
This colour is pretty sweet too, I mean.. look at that gold and purple!
All of the polishes in this collection were 2-3 coaters.. and then I applied this one, which was prefect in one coat (you see two on my middle finger because I missed a spot the first time around).
If I recall correctly, this was more pink based than the picture shows.
You can't really see it, but the colour is more of a violet blue, with some gorgeous pink and blue shimmer.
This one also has a similar shimmer to Secret Agent, but if you enlarge this picture you'll be able to see it.
So, what do you think?
I rather like this collection on a whole, I can't really pick out any outstanding colours.. except maybe Alias, which blew my socks off.. but they're all great in their own respective ways.
Bye for now!

Starting with the China Glaze..
That's all for now, I haven't gotten around to choosing a polish to wear yet, but I'm focusing on taking off what I have now first!
